Record Retrieval coordinator – HEDIS

Under the direction of the HEDIS & Risk Adjustment Data Retrieval Supervisor, the HEDIS Record Retrieval Coordinator travels to Provider offices and scans/uploads medical records into a secure system to be reviewed by CLIENTS clinical staff for HEDIS reporting. This position is responsible for daily travel to assigned location(s), carefully maintaining the confidentiality of PHI (Protected Health Information), collecting specific medical records and timely uploading of secure files.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Adhere to a schedule of daily outbound appointments with flexibility for changes.
  2. Collect specific medical records using a portable scanner, secure laptop and secure flash drive.
  3. Upload scanned files at CLIENTS site as requested.
  4. Maintain communication with the in-house CLIENTS Team throughout each day for project direction and potential scheduling changes.
  5. Provide excellent customer service both at CLIENTS and while at Provider offices.
  6. Any other duties as required to ensure that HEDIS chart collection operations are successful.
  7. Ensure the privacy and security of PHI as outlined in CLIENTS’s policies and procedures relating to HIPAA compliance.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Education/License:

High School Diploma or equivalent

Experience:

Administrative/clerical, customer service, and working with electronic medical records. Prior experience with medical record retrieval is a plus.

Knowledge/Skills Required:

Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records systems. Familiarity with Adobe Acrobat Professional and document scanning. Ability to take direction and manage varying assignments within deadlines. Have attention to detail and be well organized. Excellent customer service skills and professional appearance. Must have reliable transportation, current automobile insurance, a current state-issued driver’s license and be comfortable with daily navigation to different locations.

Physical Activities:

Walking with rolling luggage, weighing 30 pounds, containing a laptop, portable scanner and supplies. Repeated setup and breakdown of the equipment. Must be able to lift the luggage bag in/out of your vehicle and whenever necessary. Document scanning and data entry involving computer keyboard and screens.

Licensed Vocational Nurse- LVN
