Looking for Medical Assistant. Opportunities available in the Inland Empire!

Experience: 1 year

Certifications: BLS ( AHA ) & Medical Assistant Certificate

Greet patient in a courteous, engaging and personable manner. Obtain vital signs, escort them to the proper exam/treatment room, and appropriately prepare them for examination/treatment.
Appropriately perform point of service lab such as urinalysis, HGB AIC, blood glucose levels, strep testing, etc. Operate other equipment to administer routine diagnostic tests such as but not limited to pulse ox, peak flow, med neb, audiometry, ECG, Snellen, color blind testing, etc. per office protocol.
Document in the EMR as appropriate, with minimal spelling errors.
Appropriately administer patient immunization or injection according to office protocol.
Before service is rendered ensure that insurance was verified and patient notified on non-covered service before they are performed.
Assist clinician in accurately capturing charges in the EMR.
Assist clinicians with minor surgical procedures such as circumcision, vasectomy, excision, incision, colposcopy, toenail removal, IUD insertion or removal, cryotherapy, cast placements or removal, etc., by setting up sterile tray and/or other supplies, preparing and draping patient (go over and ensure signature of consent form). Assist during procedure utilizing sterile technique, handing instruments and materials to clinician as directed.
Clean and sterilize instruments utilizing the autoclave; appropriately assemble surgical instruments in sterile packages according to office protocol.
Assist clinician as required by processing and completing paperwork and patient forms according to office protocol.
Ascertain that EMR is reviewed and complete for clinician/patient encounter (test results, etc.).
Participate in quality control functions according to policy and procedure (expired medications, disposing of biohazard waste, sterilization criteria, logs).
Maintain exam rooms according to OSHA and Hospital policy and procedure; ensure that exam rooms are always properly stocked with essential supplies; and maintaining room logs.
Direct patients to the appropriate facility/location for any testing or physician appointments as needed.
Assist clinician with admissions and transfers according to office policy.
Comply with HIPAA guidelines when talking to patients, clinicians and other staff according to the institutions policy. Perform other duties as needed.
